'Homage to the Sphere'

‘Homage to the Sphere’ production still

During 2016 I was artist in residence within the University of Sheffield Department of Physics. During this time I worked with Professor Richard Jones and his research team, studying structural colour and developing a series of artworks in relation to this phenomenon as it occurs in nature. This research has formed part of an ongoing collaborative project that is being run jointly with The Natural History Museum and Akzo Nobel.

Outputs included ‘Homage to the Sphere’ a navigable, virtual reality environment based on the Munsell Colour Sphere. Created in collaboration with Sheffield based design studio Human, this featured as part of the Festival of the Mind Futurecade.

My residency blog can be viewed here.

The project was funded by Arts Council England, The University of Sheffield and Akzo Nobel.
