CAER Heritage Project - 'Tribal Logo'

CAER Heritage Project – ‘Tribal Logo’ project

Winner of the 2017 Times Higher Education Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Local Community.

Winner of the 2014 NCCPE Engage Award for Public Engagement.

Working with Dr David Wyatt and Dr Oliver Davis from Cardiff University, and local community members including David Horton from Action for Ely and Caerau (ACE), I have devised and led a series of creative activities based around the Caerau hillfort. So far these have included artistic interventions within the landscape, schools-based workshops, and mural design and creation.

Project outcomes and outputs delivered so far include:

  • The Tribal Logo project eco-graffiti on a massive scale
  • Pathway to the Past Iron Age themed graffiti mural
  • HEART of Cardiff heritage trail
  • CAER Studio a one year AHRC funded project that led to the development of a series of creatively co-produced art objects and craft items inspired by the history and heritage of the community of Caerau and Ely in South West Cardiff.
